  • Nice video topic. To expand on what I said on YouTube, I think I noticed that especially on the genders. Maybe it’s just me, but I do notice that people find girls who likes nerd hobbies attractive but if it’s a guy, then they don’t look appealing like girls. My theory is just that people sees male nerds unattractive because of the old stereotypes. If you ever remember watching the Simpsons, the character The Comic Book Guy is fat guy who likes comic books and speaks as if he’s part of series he likes. I think most people are accustomed to the idea that guys are like him and since other shows doesn’t show female nerds as often, it’s kinda new to everyone.

This is what I think, you can correct me if I’m wrong. I am not really an expert.

    • ^_^ I have seen them fat men! *comic book guys*They have ponytails and play “star wars x-wing miniatures game” on the big specially designed bored in the gaming shop (loads of table in a 3 levels building).
I think it’s an age thing personally (what generation you come from).

  • It’s an interesting topic and I think everyone has their own experiences depending on how they got into their hobbies and whether they were part of a group or going it alone. When I was younger (teens), it was very odd to be a female gamer and that caused a few issues but now it’s a little more common so there are less comments about it (from both guys and girls). Great food for thought.
